Optimize Partners is looking to hire a CloudOps Engineer as a consultant to perform system administration and support on behalf of our client - a late stage B2B SaaS cloud technology company. This will be a long-term consulting project - ~ 6 months to ~ 1 year - with real potential to become a full-time permanent role. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, and according to Federal Guidelines, this consultant must be either a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Responsibilities:
- Provisioning, installing, configuring, operating, and maintaining virtual servers, operating systems software and related infrastructure within AWS
- Implements agreed-upon secure baseline configurations, incorporates secure configuration settings for client's cloud/DB applications and solutions, and assists with security impact analyses and configuration monitoring activities
- Performs technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure
- Performs periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
- Responding to incidents, service outages and other problems
- Performs daily system monitoring, verifies the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes (e.g., reviews system and application logs, verifies completion of scheduled jobs, backups, etc.)
- Performs regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions (e.g., Reviews vulnerability reports, assesses risk of vulnerabilities, proposes corrective actions or mitigating controls, etc.)
- Co-lead the client's CloudOps Continual Service Improvement initiatives, which includes: ITIL-based KPIs to benchmark the performance ITSM Services (e.g., Incident Response, Information System Contingency, Configuration-Change Management, CloudOps tools, Requirements, policies and procedural guidelines, etc)
Qualifications:
3+ years of progressive experience in the following technologies
- Linux
- AWS
- Postgresql
- Ansible
- Bash / Python
